FUNFEST INSIGHT: Could you be accused of publishing fake news…?

We all know about fake news – it mostly involves propaganda about politicians, or the size of Kim Kardashian’s arse, right?

Actually, wrong, according to advertising standards watchdogs in the UK who are calling for even stricter regulations on branded content.

The Branded Content Research Network has called on the Department of Culture, Media & Sport and the Lords Communications Committee to launch an enquiry into how paid-for content is labeled, comparing it to ‘fake news’:

“Most of the fake news created [that we reviewed] wasn’t created for propaganda purposes, it was created for money…”

At the FunFest Influencer Summit, this issue will be tackled during a dedicated seminar session.

Experts will discuss how influencers should label paid-for content, the ethics of receiving free products for review and more.

It will form part of a highly-focused programme of discussions taking place during the morning of Saturday September, 16th 2017 at Whittlebury Hall, Northampton.

Meanwhile, in the afternoon delegates will have the opportunity to meet with toy and entertainment companies who are looking for brand ambassadors.

Tickets to the FunFest Influencer Summit are just £39.99 and kids come free - book your place now by visiting www.funfestuk.com/buy-tickets.

FunFest Summit invites bike industry brands to meet parenting bloggers

An event set for Whittlebury Hall on September 16th is to give bike industry brands the chance to engage with influential parenting bloggers.

This could be a potential new event for the MI market to consider and explore. Rather than simply shifting units at the event, the focus will be on working with bloggers and influencers to push their brands and products to the parenting market.

New look, new team, wider focus for FunFest Influencer Summit 2017

The FunFest Influencer Summit is returning once again this September – but with some exciting changes.

FunFest, now in its third year, is the UK’s first family-friendly parent blogger conference and brand ambassador event. The conference and expo has grown to accommodate a broad spectrum of bloggers, vloggers, YouTubers and social media influencers, who are all key within the fast-changing world of media and communications.

2017 sees a larger programme of activity and an extended showcase of brands and entertainment properties exhibiting and getting involved.

The event keeps family at its heart and is still very much focused on parenting and children – but will look beyond toys and traditional children’s products to include video games, books, apps, tech, bikes, music, sports and more.

The team behind the event has changed too, with Mimram Media now co-organising FunFest in partnership with MI PR Global, resulting in an exciting portfolio of activity for influencers and a greater scope for brand collaboration.

The FunFest Influencer Summit returns to Whittlebury Hall Hotel & Spa, Northamptonshire on Saturday September 16th 2017 and comprises:

•       A conference programme designed to inspire, inform and educate aspiring influencers and bloggers

•       An opportunity for influencers to meet brands who are looking for new ambassadors and media partners

•       Networking opportunities with like-minded peers

•       Kids come free! After all, the event is all about fun!

•       The FunFest Blogger Summit is for all influencers, whether you’re a mum, dad or grandparent, a ‘traditional’ blogger, YouTuber – or if you want to be one!

In addition, those who travel to FunFest by train will be offered free transport from Milton Keynes Station to the venue, and back again.

“The influencers of today are as much likely to use YouTube, Twitch and Facebook Live as they are to present their media channels via the written blog.

And that’s why we’re ensuring that FunFest 2017 will better reflect all areas of social journalism,” said Mimram Media Director Lisa Carter.

“At the same time, we’ve widened the brand sectors covered at FunFest. Toys remain important, but FunFest 2017 will also include brands from the worlds of video games, books, musical instruments, tech and more – in essence, anything that your kids love doing – and that parenting influencers love writing or talking about.”

Ruth Leonard, Marketing Director at Co-Organiser MI PR Global, added: “FunFest has been a great success over the past two years, inspiring bloggers and providing brands with a fantastic opportunity to engage with these important influencers.

“We’re delighted to be working with Mimram Media on FunFest 2017 and to be taking the event to the next level.”
